Why You Shouldn’t Worry When Your Hair Starts to Fall Out

Several years ago when I found out my son has celiac disease, I decided to do the gluten-free diet myself so I will be aware of what my son will need to go through. After only 3 months of a gluten-free diet, my chronic stomach aches and constant constipation were gone. This was an amazing find since I suffered from bloating and bad bowel movements all my life. Suddenly, I had an amazing energy like never before, and for the most, I felt very good with myself.

I kept the diet for nearly 2 years. My energy had been great.

Since I was feeling so good, after 2 years I decided to try and eat wheat again. I realized that I was able to eat wheat again, and I haven’t had any digestion issues. Although I ate a lot of wheat, I was always careful with the wheat source and the kind of grain.

At nearly age 44, I suddenly started to experience hair loss. For 2 years I was positive that this is what is suppose to happen when you are 44. I thought that this is a natural process and part of getting older. I woke up in the morning, running my fingers through my hair, and I had 20 strands in my palm. Soon my hair was everywhere. I found hair on my clothes, in the shower, in my car, on my pillow and basically everywhere. My hair became very thin, like never before.

A turnaround

Again, an angel came to me and suggested to try and go again on a gluten-free diet, although I didn’t have any reasons to do so, since I felt great and had no digestion issues. But I decided to try that diet again.

After three days of a gluten-free diet, my hair loss got reduced to few strands. After a week, like magic, my hair stopped falling completely! Nothing, nearly not one single hair. I realized that the vitamins I am providing to my body, are finally being absorbed by my body. Apart from the hair, I felt stronger and I had more strength again.

Just for the record, my blood test results were always excellent. When doing a blood test it shows what your bloodstream contains at that moment of the blood draw, as far as I understand. It doesn’t mean that the vitamins we provide to our body, go to wherever they need to go.

So next time when you see something awkward in your body, use it as a red flag. Your body is giving you a signal, and it might say that what you are eating might not be absorbed fully by your body. In my situation, it is wheat that my body cannot digest, but it might be something else for you. Go find it!
